Almaden Valley is a beautiful neighborhood and valley in the southern part of San Jose, California. The valley and neighborhood are situated between Mount Umunhum, the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Santa Teresa Hills. It is a thriving upper-middle class, suburban neighborhood, which is primarily residential in nature and features elegance and comfort as a mainstay. Technology research and development is the main industry in the area, and it is a thriving part of Silicon Valley. The neighborhood was named after the New Amalden Quicksilver Mine, which was in turn named after a mercury mine in Almaden, Spain. The city is home to Almaden Plaza, which features more than 50 retail establishments from unique boutiques to big box stores and specialty shops. Unique dining options in the neighborhood include Thai Love You, Bamboo Fish and La Foret, which features exotic and wild game. Many residents identify as coming from Caucasian descent, but the second most common ancestries are those that come from Asian descent. It is a diverse neighborhood, where over 35% of residents are foreign born. English is the primary language in the neighborhood, followed by Chinese, various African languages and Persian.

Whereas not everyone in the neighborhood is an executive, nearly 65% of adults in the community hold executive positions. The majority of residents who commute, 86%, drive private vehicles for their daily commutes.
The neighborhood features a number of gorgeous parks, such Almaden Lake Park, Almaden Quicksilver County Park, Calero Dam and Reservoir, Almaden Meadows Park and others. It is also home to the Almaden Community Center and Library and the New Almaden Quicksilver Museum.
